Do I need to be a professional or Paralympian?
No. Many supported athletes are high-level age-groupers or para-athletes at national or regional level. What matters most is your commitment, race goals, and willingness to do the work. For elite-track applicants, we do look for performance benchmarks that suggest meaningful international potential.
Is $150 / month guaranteed?
$150 is the typical supported rate for elite and para-athletes. In some cases the exact amount may differ slightly based on your support level, testing needs, and any grant funding already in play. Anything different from the standard rate is confirmed in writing before you start.
How long does support last?
If we’re a match, we typically agree on an initial block of 6–12 months, then review. If your situation changes, a job, an injury, a relocation, we may adjust the structure or wind down the supported arrangement. No surprise fee jumps.
What if I don’t qualify?
You’re still welcome to join the Yousuli Social Club, do testing at standard rates, or start with one of our standard coaching memberships ($200 / $350 per month). The supported program is one path; not the only path.
Do you cover any costs other than coaching fees?
Direct subsidies on race entries or travel aren’t standard. We do help athletes navigate grants, federation funding, sponsorship, and partner perks (Yousuli Social Club discounts on gear, swim equipment, etc.). For para-athletes specifically, we have lines into specific funding bodies and can guide applications.
Can I be coached remotely?
Yes, a meaningful portion of supported coaching is online. In-person testing days at the Performance Lab or partner facilities are part of the structure but the day-to-day prescription, feedback, and adjustments work fully remotely.
